Bitter = Quitter?

All it takes is for a guy to ADMIT that he was thinking of another girl while he's with you. (Oh yeah, sorry it took so long to put up a new post. Had to focus on the first week of classes.) And you can become the "Bitter Black Woman" for the past two weeks I felt as if I was in the transitioning period of becoming this stereotype. And I was right. I haven't been in a real lovey-dovey, "no you hang up first", kissy face, I can't wait to call him/her, relationship in three years. I've dated and all I seem to attract is jackasses, bullshitters, and fake ass pimps (and those nicknames are given those who are deserving in my address book). So back to the very first sentence..that was the straw that broke the camel's back. I went into a rage right out of your favorite urban novel or BET Blackbuster Movie (*ahem* Baby Boy). I couldn't believe that he had said this to me. Of course not without beating around the bush a few times until he figured out how he wanted to say it.  I had put plenty of time into this "young man" and thought he could have been a potential boyfriend. FUCK NO! Instead, he just uses the excuse that he told the truth. Okay and? You were still doing something that was gonna hurt my feelings. With that, and this random guy steady trying to talk to me AND my ex-girlfriend who has a son and is engaged. I am through with the whole dating scene. And I will be put in that "Bitter Black Woman" box. Now it's just me, school, and the money. But do you think being a bitter person equal to being a quitter? Leave it in the comments.

Back To School!

I've been on break practically since November and I am soooo ready to go back to class. I hate sitting around not doing anything. My schedule is EARLY in the morning and my day is over by 12:30 except on Tuesdays and that's over at 1:30. Sweet for a commuter student. For my entire first semester my dad's been taking me to school and picking me up. But with my birthday literally right around the corner (February 12th!) there's been a lot of talk between me and my parents about getting a car. I hate saying this but my hopes are WAY up! Ever since I was small I was always the one doing stuff last. And my senior year me not having a car made me feel SUPER LAME! And me not having a car as a commuter student in college SUCKS ASS! So this is BIG. I got my job back at Dollar General since I took a semester off to get used to college. And I am ready to finally be an adult after I get my Life starter package from my parents. 

Oh Yeah..I'm getting a dog too!!

Teen Mom

MTV has really stepped it up on their reality television. The Hills is the greatest thing to white people since the boxof wine. Jersey Shore is getting plenty of buzz whether it's positive or negative. The Real World is still gaining viewers, and the different dating shows may be far-fetched..but their funny nonetheless. However, the one show that has caught my eye was Teen Mom, the spinoff of the controversial 16 And Pregnant series. The show follows four teens Maci, Amber, Catelynn, and Farrah through the tough trials of parenthood at such a young age.

MACI

Maci is my personal favorite. She was on top of the world in high school until she became pregnant with her baby boy Bentley. As her friends left for school she was buying formulas and pampers. Her parents want her to get married to her boyfriend Ryan. But I personally think he's a piece of shit and she would do better as a single parent. Maci does all she can for little Bentley. She's enrolled in online classes, and works to keep her son well taken care of. While Ryan works out of town and when they are together..he's still a piece of shit. Maci's segments of the show usually has me yelling at the tv as if Ryan can hear my yells to pick the baby up and give him a hug. As I watch the series I hope Maci will dump Ryan's stupid ass and live her life as a single-parent.

AMBER

A high school dropout, Amber was definitely a party girl until she got pregnant with Leah by her older brother's friend, Gary. Soon after Gary proposed to Amber, everything went downhill.They argue all the time about Leah being taken care of by Gary for a change since Amber does it 24/7. Amber's segments usually have me looking at the TV like I'm bored out of my mind because..well..I'm usually bored out of my mind. Her and Gary simply need to put their minds together instead of bumping heads to figure out a balance that'll satisfy the both of them.

CATELYNN

Catelynn's story has me in tears every time she comes on. During her junior year she became pregnant with Carly. Her and her boyfriend Tyler made the very huge decision of giving Carly up for adoption. They have a semi-open adoption where they speak to the adoptive parents regularly and they'll send pictures of the baby. Catelynn and Tyler's parents strongly disagreed their choice of adoption and since then they have been putting the young teens through hell. I believe that in their situation Tyler and Catelynn chose the best choice that'll benefit them and their baby girl. Their parents need to let them be teenagers and get THROUGH the situation.

FARRAH

This segment is where I yell and scream at the TV because I swear this girl grinds my gears like no other. Farrah is a high school cheerleader turned single parent. But she insists on trying to juggle everything. A social life, school, a job, a modeling career, and most of all being a single teen mom. I don't have any children and I'm not going to call her a bad mom but she needs to wake up QUICK. Her daughter is healthy and beautiful and even though her parents help take care of her when she decides to go out with her friends until 3am, that's not their place to do that. 

Teen Mom is a great reality check for a lot of young girls out there. It sends a great message about how having a baby isn't as glamorous as some teens think it is. I will continue watching the show as it touches me personally since me and these girls are around the same age. And how I could easily be in that spot.

Say It Ain't So..

Last night as I was getting ready to lay it down after having a hearty laugh with my pants on the ground and Princess Penelope..Soul Legend Teddy Pendergrass passed away at 9:59pm last night. He had surgery for colon cancer about 8 months ago. This was my mother's MAN lol. Her favorite song is Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes' (which Pendergrass was the lead singer of) 'If You Don't Know Me By Now.'

Teddy P might be the reason I'm here today along with others..A lot of people miss you Mr. Pendergrass. And I know they'll keep you not only in their hearts, but in their music players.

As if the country of Haiti didn't have enough problems, an earthquake hit with a 7.0 magnitude. Thousands of people have died and the earthquake has destroyed much of the country including their National Palace. Many other countries have been affected my the quake as they have lost loved ones. In return, different organizations have earthquake funds and they need OUR help.

Plus Teen Southeast?

     So I've decided to enter the Plus Teen Southeast pageant..I didn't do USA because I'm not ready for such a HUGE pageant. I'll be too old to do it next year but I'll enter something else. So I'm doing regionals instead. It's July 17th in ATLANTA. I haven't traveled since I was 4 and me and my parents went to Disneyworld. I'm SOOO excited! My best friend will be there (DUH!) and my parents will be there. When I competed for Miss Freshman at school I wasn't mentally ready, neither were the other contestants really. I was too lost in the whole new world of college. But this is MY time. I'm ready to compete and WIN WIN WIN!
